Le Manoir de la Tête Rouge…

A strange name for a 17th century mansion … haunted only by the spirit of sharing,  rigor and taste of quality but we will be happy to give you some explanations when you are here!

The Estate …

In 2007, we opened three guest rooms, but because of her role as an ambassador of the Anjou region – She is specialized , among others, in the art and history of the regional cuisine and the communication and marketing sales of the dessert « Crêmet d’ Anjou «  – Sophie has simply no time to deal with anymore and we have therefore, decided to stop the activity of BnB rooms in December 2016. Do not hesitate to contact Sophie for further information.

We occasionally offer a guest table with local colors and inspirations. We are part of the AMAP (Association for Maintenance of Peasant Agriculture) Doue la Fontaine. We consume local food of local producers mainly.

Le Vineyard…

On the hill of Puy Notre Dame, a majestic collegiate eleventh century overlooks the vineyard. Le Manoir de la Tête Rouge was built in 1649 at the foot of the hill.
In 1995 we acquired the property with 10 hectares of vineyards, among others, the plot of Enchentoir. The vines are planted on the best clay-limestone soils of Saumur. The first restoration into a dwelling house and a cellar was finished in 1996 and we bought 4 more hectares. In 1998 we converted to organic culture and got certified by Ecocert, the first organic vintage was made in 2001. The conversion to biodynamic and Biodyvin certification took place in 2010 and in 2013 we bought yet another 4.8 hectares of cabernet franc already grown biodynamic.
